Basic Router Setup Steps

So your setting up your router for the first time, well here is a few basic tips for getting you started.

	CD Setup Insert the Disk into your computer CD Drive. The program should start automatically if it does not go to 'My Computer' and double click your CD rom drive. On the start page of the program there should be 'Quick Start', 'Start', 'Basic Start', 'Wizard' or 'Setup' option. Click on it. Just follow the on screen instruction. As easy as that.
	Browser Setup Open your favourite web browser (ex Internet Explorer, Firefox, Google Chrome) In the address bar type in the IP address of your router (ex Telkom = http://10.0.0.2, D-Link: 192.168.0.1) Most users will come up with a login screen for you to be able to log into the routers configuration page. Type in the default username and password for your router. On the start page there should be 'Quick Start', 'Start', 'Basic Start', 'Wizard' or 'Setup' option. Click on it. Just follow the on screen instruction. As easy as that.

In those steps it will ask you a few question to answer, the most importent things to remember is; (For south africa)

Encapsulation: LLC
VPI = 8
VCI = 35
Your Username & Password for your ADSL account which you will get from your ISP.
